Metro7 (Cyan/Blue) rollover Pink

I notice, in the Mar 2 2012 release (6.1.0) when you roll over anchor tags in the default Metro7 blue skin, that the foreground Blue and background white changes to foreground white and background Pink (? sorry I couldn't find the exact colour).  I'm not sure that this is very attractive or standard roll over effect for Metro. Can we look at alternative options for anchor tags (especially in admin/host menus and on search results pages). Thanks.

Suggestions:

  1. Changing anchor tags to light [grey/blue/skin colour] and changing the effect on mouse rollover to darker [black/blue/Skin colour]. Eg. http://create.msdn.com/en-US/ or http://xamlcoder.com/blog/2010/11/04/creating-a-metro-ui-style-control/
  2. Include Circle Arrow Icon after anchor tab (as part of the style). This might get complicated as Admin menu's probably shouldn't have them. E.g. http://create.msdn.com/en-US/ display's multiple examples. There are only a few places to get free Metro icons, I use (http://yankoa.deviantart.com/art/Windows-Phone-7-Icons-166077852).
  3. Invert the foreground/background colours on roll over.

What does everyone else think?

The colors without the Search and Login/Register boxes are styled by CSS, so you could change these colors.  I agree with you that the Pink backgoud not real passed to the blue Metro7 skin.  We could add this for changing as a minor issue to the issue tracker.  But it is very hard to change, about the blog module used a button color here, and we must be sure that the colors works for all modules and pages using this css control.  On the default this had a white color for the content, what make it hidden by a white background.

We don not think that we want to change the Admin/Host menu bar style.  About it had it's own style, and could be done problems, if an other Admin bar would be used.

Totally agree with your comments around styles and the Admin/host menu bar.  I'm not experienced with the css behind a Dnn skin, but I would hope that the menu bar styles are separated in an easily maintainable way and to ensure that skin developers don't break it (well I would hope that's how they are configured).
